My name is Heather Nicol and I have been teaching Kindergarten at MPES since 1999. I lived in the Florida panhandle for most of my childhood and then Montevallo, AL in later years. I graduated from University of Montevallo in 1996 with a degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. I taught special needs in Helena, AL for a short time while I was also working as assistant manager for Talbots Kids and planning my wedding. My store closed and Talbots moved us to Roswell in 1998. I got to know MPE while being a business partner and coming over to the school to read once a month.
I got married in 1997 to my college boyfriend Chris Nicol. We met at Okaloosa-Walton College (now Northwest FL College) in Niceville, FL where he was on jazz band scholarship and I was on a dance scholarship. We have a son, Jonathan who was born on “Pi day” 3.14.11. We also have a very neurotic and spirited border collie named Bozley. We moved from Roswell out to Cumming in the year 2000 and we absolutely love it! We are actively involved in our church Browns Bridge Community Church. My faith is a big part of how and why I teach.
